NELS42: Diversity and universals
The role of typology and linguistic universals in linguistic theory

The 42nd Annual Meeting of the North East Linguistic Society will take place November 11-13, 2011 at the University of Toronto.

We invite abstracts for talks and posters on all topics of theoretical linguistics for the General Session. In addition, there will be two workshops related to our theme (see below). Talks will be 20 minutes followed by 10 minutes of questions. There will also be a poster session as part of the General Session.

Submissions are limited to one single-authored talk/poster and one co-authored talk/poster. Abstracts should be at most 2 pages (minimum 11 point font, 1-inch margins), including references and data.

The deadline for submissions was July 1. Abstract submission is now closed.

When submitting an abstract, please indicate whether you would like to be considered for one of the following workshops, or for the General Session.

Submissions to the workshops may also be considered for the General Session. Click here for more information about the workshop themes and invited speakers.
