Can Linguistics Help?
Despite years of scholarship going back to the Renaissance, dating the books
of the Hebrew Bible remains a controversial enterprise. Professor Dresher
will discuss contemporary methods in historical linguistics and
sociolinguistics that can be used to evaluate the relative age of the
language in the BibleÕs many books.
