Previous research focussed on Wichi, an Indigenous language
of Argentina (her native country). She has since begun work
on Algonquian languages as well (especially Innu). The subject of her postdoctoral
research is the morphological and syntactic reflections of the ‘Animacy /prominence/
referential hierarchy’ in the grammar of the Algonquian languages (especially
Objibwe). Among the morphosyntactic reflections of this hierarchy, she will
pay special attention to the marking of number, the inverse system and obviation.
